Dear Partner in Mission,
As an expat living in Southern California, over the years I’ve come to admire the qualities that make San Diego “America’s Finest City”. Whether it is the diversity of biomes, the unique microclimates, or the human ingenuity creating advancements and opportunities in our “Silicon Coast”, there are a lot of factors that attract people like me to call San Diego their home.
But above all that San Diego has to offer, there’s perhaps an unseen reality that connects us even more deeply. And that reality is the fact that the Kingdom of God is present and at work in our city. Often hidden, like yeast in a batch of dough, the Kingdom is permeating every facet of life around us. It is with that in mind that this year our ACM is committed to demonstrating how the Kingdom of God is moving forward here at home by seeking and finding the lost, bringing hope to the afflicted, and shining a light in dark places.

In this catalog, you will encounter snippets of the Kingdom’s restorative justice at work among us. From the planting of new worshipping communities to feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and bringing healing to the sick, the Good News of God’s Kingdom is being proclaimed in word and deed through the faithfulness of ministry partners who have set out to co-labor with Christ in ushering His redemptive purposes in our city. This purpose is not only confined to San Diego, but it’s also crossing many borders and impacting the world, as you will also encounter.
The message of Christmas is that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. You can say that God’s Son took on a body and came to live in our neighborhood. Indeed, we can believe that God so loved San Diego that He gave His only begotten Son for the sake of our city. At Solana Beach Presbyterian Church we desire to proclaim this love, and we call on you to partner with us in this enterprise by, just like Christ, also give of yourself.
